Produced for a start-up company to discribe the key attributes of their technology.

The process of designing these diagrams enabled the company directors to identify in their own minds and to better communicate to investors and customers the unique character of their product.

science presentation

The presentation of science is our speciality. Many designers lack confidence in this area and therefore resort to decoration rather than interpretation of client's stories.

At grassdance we have years of experience in making scientific concepts accesible to the general public via popular science books. And more recently producing presentations for science start-up companies.

The company who comissioned these images wanted to show the way in which their technology re-activated the phagosytic response which had been disabled by resistant bacteria.

One of a series of images used to illustrate various training courses offered by the commisioning company. This was about intervening to calm a person in crisis the image was used on leaflets and an exhibition board.

Safety advice can often be percieved as boring and therefore ignored. Hence displaying it in an engaging way is very important. This series of images illustrate leaflets on the safe handling of chemicals.

image of a diagram showing bird migration routes

Until the designer challenged the preconceptions of the scientists who authored this book and drew out the reasons this subject would apeal to a wider audience, the routes that birds travelled were to be shown as lines on a map.

The adventure stories behind the lines were only revealed during the design process.

This poster for the oil industry had the capacity to directly comunicate the size of the structures involved. When printed on paper 850mm square cross-sections of the enormous pipes were reproduced at life size.
