I present here a wide range of images I have produced, from drawings to computer generated illustrations, photographs to paper sculptures. The more images a designer has in their ‘mental library’ the more options they have to create ideas for their client.
I do not limit my design work by only using images I have produced myself, but the practice of making images keeps my imagination alive to different possibilities, as well as being aware of the technical challenges some ideas present.

drawn images
I have always had an interest in and ability to produce, drawn images.
This ability facilitates design, particularly when asked to bring non visual subjects to life.
When one can express an idea in diagramatic form, while working alonside the client, many possibilities can be explored.

Andy Niven is a Garden Designer starting up his own business.
He wanted to use the Identity we had designed for him as the basis for his website as he built the business.
It is either a first port of call for web browsers or a place where people to whom he has given his business card can gain further information on his approach

manipulated images
I also enjoy the ability to make photographs do more, perhaps surreal things to sharpen the message impact. This image was manipulated in photoshop to advertise the 'hothouse festival' which might refer to flowers in a glasshouse, but what if it were a bit hotter.....

Photography
Doing the photography for a design comission - (in this case a website for "the flowerhouse" a floristry business in Perthshire) allows me to indulge one of my favourite activities.I particularly enjoy macro photography which shows what the naked eye can miss.
